Do children, who are downstairs,
celebrate the departure of their father,
after he has visited them downstairs?

You do not know the power of God. When you celebrate ascension, which ascension are you celebrating? Since His death and resurrection, Jesus has been paying frequent visit to the world. That means ascension and descension is frequently taking place. As well, so many heavenly Angels are coming down (descending) to the world and going up (ascending) to heaven.
12 Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. Genesis 28:11-12
By the way, do children, who are living downstairs, celebrate the visit of their father, after he comes down the staircase to see them? Out of spiritual blindness, the religious leaders have rejected the Truth, and have being busy feeding the world with fabricated doctrines.
Instead of doing what God said, religious leaders have deviated from the commandments of God and have been deceiving themselves and misleading the world. They have rejected the everlasting festivals of God, as specified in the scriptures, and have introduced man-made doctrines and pagan routines by following the false imaginations of their own hearts. Did not the Lord warn against all the leaven (false teachings) of the Pharisees (religious leaders), saying:
21 "I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran.
I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22 But if they had stood in My counsel,
And had caused My people to hear My words,
Then they would have turned them from their evil way
And from the evil of their doings.
Jeremiah 23:21-22
30 "Therefore behold, I am against the prophets," says the LORD, "who steal My words every one from his neighbor. 31 Behold, I am against the prophets," says the LORD, "who use their tongues and say, 'He says.' 32 Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams," says the LORD, "and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore they shall not profit this people at all," says the LORD.
